OVERVIEW :
Olympos is the second most important port city in the southern coasts of Antalya, after Phaselis. It is located 52 miles southwest of Antalya city center, and 27 miles southwest of Kemer county town. The city borrows its name from the Tahtalı Mountain, one of the extensions of Taurus Mountains with a height of 7.800 feet, and 10 miles away from Olympos, It is within the borders of Olympos-Beydagları National Park.
One of the most visible structures of the city is the temple gate located 500 feet west of the estuary. The most intriguing among the relics however, is the Sarcophagus of Captain Eudemus, brought to light with the excavations run by Antalya Museum. East of Olympos, 984 feet away from the coast is the spectacular beach where Loggerhead sea turtles (caretta caretta) lay their eggs, and the famous settlement of Cıralı, with its sand dunes inhabited by many plants.
